Waiting game

Well I'm 40 weeks and 1 day today and still no big signs that our baby is going to make an appearance any time soon! I am hoping that the backache and stomach ache that I'm having today is a promising sign of things to come. Its rather bizarre but I'm sure not too unusual, that I am willing my stomach ache to get worse, I'm sure once the contractions well and truly kick in that I will be regretting willing them to come on so much! We're well and truly playing the waiting game now, I think most couples that are having a baby will get to 37/38 weeks and get excited like we did thinking that it could be 'any day now!'. When you get to 40 weeks and beyond it gets pretty frustrating waiting to see your little baby, and even though it may only be a couple of extra days waiting, they seem to drag and drag and drag. Plus the continuous phone calls, text messages and posts on Facebook of people asking 'any signs', 'any news', though nice, are almost annoying beyond words because no matter how many times you tell them that as soon as we know anything, we will let them know!
Anyway here's hoping that the next time I write my blog, it'll be about being a mummy to a newborn baby girl!

Pregnancy worries/labour panic!

I keep finding myself drifting off into my own little world when it comes to my pregnancy, I'll be laid in the bath and all off a sudden I'm in a blind panic about my labour (which I'm hoping is in the birthing pool, hence the bath panic I suppose) and what its going to feel like, and the massive issue of squeezing a melon sized head through my vagina! Now I know millions of women have done it and are doing it as I type right now but that really offers me no reassurance whatsoever when it comes to my own labour bubble. I just keep going through in my mind, sheer blind panic, 'Holy sh*t, I can't do this, it's not humanly possible, its going to hurt so much!' then moments of calm, when I think 'Of course I can do this, I'm a women, my body is designed to do this wonderful, natural thing'. I secretly wish I could just wake up one day and she would be here, delivered by stalks, or found under the gooseberry bush like my Mum used to tell me, but we all know that is wishful thinking and yes it's going to hurt like hell, but she will be worth it in the end!

Heartburn

Wow, burn baby burn, 39 weeks pregnant and man am I really starting to feel it now. Eaten everything under the sun today, even went out to Morrisons to get some supplies of random things like prawn mayo, sticky toffee pudding and crumpets! Had huge portion of creamy mash and sausages which was not a good idea as it now feels like I have got a red hot poker stuck down my throat! I don't seem to be able to find anything that I can eat though that doesn't set the bloody dreaded heartburn off and good god someone please remind me not to eat cheese sandwiches before bed because my lord it means walking up at 3am and feeling like I'm going to die! The other problem I have at the moment is really wanting this baby to come out and following the three B's (Balti, Bath and Bonk) plus all the other random ideas that people have is tiring me out. One day I'll have the urge to get up and go and do loads of walking, ball bouncing and bonking (lol) and then other days I'm feeling as dead as a door nail! Hopefully she'll be coming soon so I can eat again normally! I'm sensing a theme with the food, this could be interesting!
